JOB PURPOSE:
Performs the duties of a teacher in his/her absence by following the classroom schedule and the lesson plans of the teacher
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs the duties of a teacher in his/her absence by following the classroom schedule and the lesson plans of the teacher
- Fulfills the responsibilities in accordance with the policies, procedures and the educational philosophy of the Children’s Center
- Able to report to work on an on-call basis, often on the day before or early in the morning of the day he/she is asked to report for work
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience, Competencies and Education
- Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, or 15 credit hours in Early Childhood Education or related field and one-year experience working with young children, or CDA credential
- Current background checks including Criminal History, Child Abuse, FBI, National Sex Offender registry and physical examination, including TB test, required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Able to supervise children by sight and sound
- Physically able to participate actively with children in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities
- Physically able to lift children and move classroom equipment
- Able to relate in a positive manner with children and adults
- Able to maintain a healthy and safe environment for the children
- Able to report to work on an on-call basis, often on the day before or early in the morning of the day he/she is asked to report for work
